A bit more about me.

I’m Charlie

I’m a CPCAB (Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body) qualified counsellor and registered member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy). This just means that I’ve gone through extensive training to be a counsellor and am backed by both an awarding body and a professional association.

I specialise in individual counselling - so if you’re looking for a couples counsellor or family counselling I won’t be able to help (but I may be able to point you in the right direction). I have experience of working with a wide range of issues which I’ve tried to list out below. My approach to counselling is integrative, which means that I work with you to link your past experiences with present difficulties. This may mean talking through your life story, to better understand what might be going on right now, as well as coming up with some practical ways to support you in your day to day. Generally we can work together to see what works best for you.

I work in accordance with the BACP ethical framework, and as such am committed to regular and ongoing professional training and development. I also attend regular supervision and personal therapy to check in on my practice and own mental health. If you’d like to know more about the BACP do check out their website: https://www.bacp.co.uk/about-us/about-bacp/
